Five Eyes Customer on STORM

“We love the STORM. The ability to power it from multiple power sources is amazing. The performance has been stellar and the ruggedization has been vital in our mission set.”

ARMY Unit on STORM Mini - 45 Day Use
“The STORM MINI was a hit. It ran our COP without buffering or hiccups and then served as a COTM terminal on vehicles. We conducted an MS Teams call at highway speeds, pulling 84.3 Mbps down and 3.65 Mbps up, with only about 5 minutes of loss in extremely deep valleys.”

Army Unit On Size & usability
“User friendly, about the size of a laptop, under 10 lbs, tan colored, carried by one person, and provided excellent service for 4 to 6 users within 25 meters.”
CopaSAT About Us

Built on Decades of Mission Experience

founded by Obie J. E. Johnson

CopaSAT was founded by Obie J. E. Johnson, a technology entrepreneur and electrical engineer from Auburn University, with nearly 40 years of experience working with military satellite communications systems. That experience shapes everything we build.

In 2008, Mr. Johnson assembled a small engineering team that developed highly successful X, Ku, and Ka band manpack and fly away terminals while co owner of Tampa Microwave, directly supporting expeditionary and tactical mission requirements.
To vertically integrate the technologies required for truly rugged field systems, CopaSAT expanded its capabilities through strategic acquisitions:
  • In 2017, CopaSAT acquired Eclipse Composite Engineering, bringing in advanced carbon fiber composite antenna design used in WGS certified satellite terminals.
  • In 2019, CopaSAT acquired Virideon’s intelligent power management product line, enabling integrated renewable and expeditionary power solutions alongside SATCOM systems.

Where CopaSAT Fits...

From remote operations to offshore environments, CopaSAT supports teams operating beyond dependable terrestrial coverage.

Emergency Response

CopaSAT delivers dependable satellite communications when terrestrial networks are unavailable or compromised. From hurricanes and wildfires to large-scale incidents and disaster recovery, first responders and response teams rely on CopaSAT systems to maintain command, coordination, and situational awareness—anytime, anywhere.

CopaSAT keeps crews connected beyond the limits of cellular coverage. Whether operating nearshore, offshore, or in blue-water environments, CopaSAT systems provide reliable voice and data connectivity to support navigation, safety, coordination, and operational continuity on the water.

For operations far from traditional infrastructure, CopaSAT enables reliable, off-grid connectivity. Ideal for remote worksites, temporary deployments, and challenging terrain, CopaSAT systems support critical communications where reliability, uptime, and rapid deployment matter most.

CopaSAT supports mobile missions that demand fast setup and consistent connectivity. Designed for vehicles, trailers, and deployable platforms, CopaSAT systems provide stable communications for mobile command, field operations, and on-the-move teams—without complexity or delay.

How We Work

We build with field realities in mind—prioritizing reliability, rugged design, and integration paths that make deployment straightforward.

1
Field-Driven Design

We iterate based on real deployment feedback, not lab-only assumptions.

2
Rugged First

Durability and reliability come standard—built to handle weather, transport, and sustained use.

3
Integration Ready

Practical integration paths for networks, platforms, and power environments—less friction to deploy.
